BI Developer

Summary

As a member of the software development team, this position is focused on supporting our data and reporting environment for various applications, with a concentration on the CRM.  The BI Developer is primarily responsible for creating/maintaining reports, dashboards, data models, SQL queries, and modifying scripts.  Additionally, this person will optimize workflows and enhance business intelligence efforts.  Solid testing skills are important to ensure the accuracy and reliability of developed solutions.

Duties

  1. Develop new visualizations, reports, and dashboards as needed, with a strong emphasis on creating visually compelling experiences.
  2. Develop, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain T-SQL queries and stored procedures.
  3. Ability to export, import, and transform data from SQL to other formats such as delimited raw/text file and Excel.
  4. Organize and maintain a library of reports and SQL objects.
  5. Develop new automations and optimize existing workflows.
  6. Gain a deep level of understanding of the CRM at a database level.
  7. Meet with CRM team to understand needs and develop solutions.
  8. Gather and analyze business requirements to develop reports and dashboards.
  9. Collaborate with Advancement to identify opportunities for data-driven insights and improvement.
  10. Create and maintain documentation.
  11. Validate data accuracy, and functionality of developed solutions.
  12. Utilize Power Automate to collect data from online forms.
  13. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Applications and Data Development Manager.

      • CRM team members
      • Other project members as appropriate

Qualifications

      1. Must be a Christian, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Must also agree with our statement of faith and conduct his/herself in a Christ-like manner.
      2. Bachelor’s degree preferred in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
      3. Minimum 2 years of experience with Power BI or a similar tool including report authoring, dashboard development, and data modeling. Strong skills in leveraging the presentation layer of Power BI or similar tool to create visually impactful dashboards and reports is required. Knowledge of DAX or similar language is required.
      4. 2 years of experience as a SQL developer utilizing Microsoft SQL Server 2019 (or higher). Must have the ability to write T-SQL.  Microsoft SQL certification is a plus.
      5. 2 years of experience exporting, importing, transforming, and loading data from various sources into Power BI or similar tool.
      6. Experience developing workflows and automations using Power Automate, particularly for collecting data from online forms.
      7. Experience with the items listed below is desirable, but not required:
      8. Donor database or CRM experience
      9. Microsoft Excel
      10. Cognito Forms
      11. SharePoint
      12. Skilled at gathering requirements and translating them into solutions.
      13. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
      14. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
      15. Good oral and written communication skills.

Performance Evaluations

You will meet with your manager quarterly in alignment with our fiscal year to discuss your accomplishments and priorities.
