Memory Previewing Her Booklet“Receiving a Bible for the first time in my life is the greatest miracle I have ever experienced,” says Memory, a 29-year-old from Zambia. “I thank God for this because my life is no longer the same. I can now study the Word of God on my own, unlike previously when I depended mostly on our pastor.”

Memory grew up in a Christian family, but she did not have her own copy of God’s Word until she completed a Project Philip Bible study.  She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at 14 and was baptized at the local church in their area. At age 16, Memory lost both of her parents. She had no one left to pay her school expenses, so she dropped out in grade nine. But it didn’t stop her from ministering to local children.

She has always had a burning passion for reaching out to remote areas to teach the Bible to the children, but she did not know how to begin. “I always had the desire to be a Sunday school teacher in our church, but unfortunately, we had no books for children, and this made it somewhat difficult for me to prepare lessons for them,” she said.

Participating in the Project Philip Bible study training equipped her to teach the Bible more effectively. She started using the materials to share the Gospel with the children in her ministry group. “I have seen change with the children as they are able to share what they are learning. And for me as their teacher, it has become easy to communicate with them,” she relayed.

The spread of the Gospel in her ministry area became contagious; it is now reaching even the remote places through word of mouth. “Through this program, the children in my church are no longer the same; we have reached many youngsters around the community, introducing them to the church,” she says. “They are now able to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others, and their lives are no longer the same.”
