You might know his voice from The Word in Action podcast or from your local Christian radio station, but now get ready to meet the man behind the mic.
Michael Woolworth has been with Bible League for nine years, and has made many connections through Bible League’s radio ministry.
It’s a joy to join on-air hosts to share stories of our gracious God at work in His world through His Word and to invite responsive radio listeners all over the country to join us in this ministry. And then, because of their generosity, to be able to tell waiting Christians around the globe, “Your Bibles are coming!” Remarkably, I served in Christian radio 35 years ago and remember engaging in Bible League campaigns way back when on my local station. And now, to have the privilege of leading this part of Bible League’s ministry is cause for praise to the Lord.
There’s a verse that encourages Michael in his ministry.
As it relates to our work at Bible League, I love Revelation 11:15.
“The kingdom of the world has now become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah. And he will rule forever and ever.” – ERV
Through personal trips abroad and hearing stories from everywhere Bible League serves, we’re seeing our gracious God make good on His promise to redeem people from every nation, tribe and tongue.
On one of these trips, Michael was able to bless someone with her first Bible in Tanzania.
I visited Tanzania the week of the Super Bowl a few years ago to provide Bibles to 200 new believers. Name after name was read and met with applause and shouts of joy. When I gave Mabel hers, she held it high above her head and said several times in Swahili, “I’m a new creation in Christ! I’m a new creation in Christ!” That was remarkable considering she was the former village witchdoctor and at 65 years of age, left all of that to follow Jesus. I can’t recall who won the Super Bowl that year, but I’ve never forgot meeting Mabel and hearing those shouts from her for her new faith.
He’s become a leader in his local church as well.
I’m an elder in my local church, and my wife and I recently became empty nesters after our youngest daughter married last fall. And while we lament that we worked ourselves out of jobs after raising three children, we find joy in seeing them walking with the Lord and giving us five grandchildren (number six is due July 2025).
