Portrait Of Mama Wilma, Project Philip Facilitator From South Sudan.Wilma is a 51-year-old widow and mother of six from the Middle East. She notes with a smile, “My name is Wilma, but my friends call me Mama Wilma.” Right now, she is working hard to share the Gospel through Project Philip Bible studies in a large city.

Though she grew up going to church, it’s only been in the last 10 years that she fully committed her life to Christ. Since then, she has dreamed of serving God. She explains, “My dream is to serve God with all my heart. That is all I want to do as a widow. I’m ready to serve God in different capacities because I have nothing more important than God in my entire life.”

When she was able to attend a Project Philip training, it really made a difference in her life. She says, “This was the first training that my church sent me to attend. What I like is that Project Philip is practical and anyone who takes part in it can feel that he is capable. It was very important in my life because it made me the leader of a Bible study group.”

Even though the pandemic affected them, Mama Wilma’s first group finished their Bible study. She continues sharing the Gospel and has formed a second group in the home of one of her church members. This group has six people in it.

She beams, “Thank you for your work in my life and the lives of many. I never imagined that I would be the leader of small Bible study group.”
