Indonesia Pp God's Word Has Changed My Life.Ibrani was born and raised in a conservative Muslim family in Indonesia. Ibrani worked in a bank as a branch manager for 10 years. However, life changed for the worse; he was in an illicit affair that resulted in divorce. “My life fell apart. I squandered my assets. I tried to find happiness in partying. I felt an emptiness inside my heart and felt hopeless,” he admits.

At that time, he became close friends with a devout Christian family. “I saw how their lives were full of peace and joy while I was stressed out, confused, depressed, and hopeless,” he observes. He joined a Bible study group in a church that paved the way for God to work in his life.

“My longing to read and study the Bible grew. I found a verse in the Bible that changed my entire life–Hebrews 13:5. It says, Keep your lives free from the love of money. And be satisfied with what you have. God has said, ‘I will never leave you; I will never run away from you.’”

God’s Word began working in his life. He acknowledges, “I joyfully surrendered my life to Jesus Christ and asked Him to be my Lord and Savior. There was joy and peace inside.”

He later returned to his home, and God gave him the courage to tell others about his new faith in Jesus. His extended family began to accept him. His faith in God grew as he got involved in the local church. The pastor encouraged him to be part of the church and join a Bible League Project Philip Bible study.

“I was lacking in confidence at first since I thought leading a Bible study group was difficult. However, as I took part in the training, I felt equipped with an effective tool to help me lead a Bible study group. One try gave me the excitement to do more. I started several groups and used the materials to study the Word,” he notes.

God began opening new doors for Ibrani. He now leads a Bible study group for 11 adults. He is also working as a department manager in a hotel. “God has big plans for my life. As I moved, God began opening new opportunities to serve Him and convey the goodness of the Lord Jesus to my staff.”
