Zimbabwe CropDorothy is a 13-year-old girl from Malaliya, Zimbabwe. She participated in a Bible League Project Philip Bible study for kids.

“I grew up in a Christian family, but my mother struggled to discipline me. I attended Sunday school, but we lacked reading materials. My teacher used Bible League’s Friends Forever booklets to give us life-changing lessons. I gave my life to Christ and started reading God’s Word and learned to pray regularly. Jeremiah 1:5 says, ‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you…’ This verse helped me to understand my purpose.”

Dorothy has seen growth in her spiritual life. “I now obey my parents and no longer am naughty. The Bible studies encouraged me to read the Bible, and I understood God and His role in my life. They gave me loving thoughts and a tender heart towards Him. I understand the Gospel now and am passionate to share it with others,” she testifies.

“Many children in this community can’t afford a Bible because they are costly. They attend services without Bibles and depend on the Word preached in church. We need more Bibles to equip the children with God’s Word. My desire is for all my friends at church, school, and in the village to have Bibles.”

Dorothy has seen the transforming power of God’s Word. “Bible League’s Project Philip program has been helpful in my life. I received a free Bible and booklet and was equipped with God’s Word. I love my Friends Forever Bible study booklet. It has transformed many lives and equipped our church. It has helped us to have good behavior at home. Just imagine giving a Bible to someone you do not know. When I grow up, I also want to be a giver,” she asserts.

“Pray for my friend Nomcebo to experience Christ in her life. Her parents are trapped in ancestral worship and forbid her from accompanying me to church. Pray for my family to remain united and that I grow in faith as I attend my Bible study lessons. Also, to excel in studies and make my parents proud.”

Dorothy concludes, “I do not know where I will be in the future due to COVID-19. But my desire is to spread God’s Word to other children. Thank you to everyone who provides us with God’s Word; we are now well-equipped. You have given me this beautiful Bible. I am grateful for the good work you are doing. May God bless you!”
